Welcome to Royton & Crompton Family Practice
Royton & Crompton Family Practice are continuing to follow the Government Guidelines on Surgeries being open.
The surgery is open for business as usual but will continue to book phone call consultations only with "No Walk In" until further notice.
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
PLEASE NOTE THAT WHILST WE ARE STILL OPEN AS USUAL, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO THE BUILDING UNLESS WE HAVE ASKED YOU TO ATTEND THE PRACTICE.
We politely request that anybody coming into the surgery wears a face covering, this can be a mask, scarf, or anything else which covers your mouth and nose. This is for the protection of everyone and we thank you for complying.
The government guidance suggests there is no requirement for the public to provide evidence, medical or otherwise, for exemption therefore a self-declaration from the individual should be sufficient.
For more information please visit the GOV.UK website on the use of face coverings:
Patients who are travelling by plane, and feel unable to wear a face covering, should contact the "Special Assistance Team" for their individual airline.
**Extension to Self Isolation period announced by Chief Medical Officers 30/07/20**
Chief Medical Officers today have announced the period of self-isolation will be extended from 7 to 10 days for those in the community who have symptoms or a positive test result.
In symptomatic people COVID-19 is most infectious just before, and for the first few days after symptoms begin. It is very important people with symptoms self-isolate and get a test, which will allow contact tracing.
Advice to patients:
Stay home and self-isolate for 10 days. Members of your household should self-isolate at home too for 14 days from the point where you started having symptoms.
The symptoms of Covid-19 are fever, a persistent or new cough, and loss of sense of smell and taste.
Book a Covid-19 test immediately:
- Get a coronavirus test - nhs.uk website or call 119 if you do not have internet access.
- The test is most accurate in the first 5 days of having symptoms.
You should isolate yourself if you have any of the symptoms and only leave your house when going to get your test.
For more information about the self-isolation extension, please visit https://www.gov.uk/government/news/statement-from-the-uk-chief-medical-officers-on-extension-of-self-isolation-period-30-july-2020
All queries can be dealt with by telephone, on 0161 362 4003, and prescription requests can be made via email - OLDCCG.email@example.com as usual.
If you need to order a repeat prescription please email firstname.lastname@example.org, please only contact the surgery to order medication if you are unable to email your request. Prescriptions take 48 hours to be processed.
We have made the decision to temporarily change all appointments to telephone appointments. Patients who are given a telephone appointment will be contacted and triaged by a clinician. We have also introduced a 'red line' in front of the reception area to ensure that a safe working distance (2 metres) is maintained between patients and staff. These steps have been taken in the best interests of patients and staff alike.
Please do not attend the surgery unless absolutely necessary.
Thankyou for your understanding and patience at this time.
