Results of blood tests and other types of tests are received daily and reviewed by the Doctor who requested the test. Should the results of any test indicate that action needs to be taken, then the surgery will contact you. Please ensure the surgery holds a current phone number for you (including mobile phone number, if possible), as a follow up appointment may need to be arranged.
We will not usually contact you if the results are normal.
You can obtain your results initiated by the surgery in the following ways:
If the test was arranged by your hospital consultant
If your test has been carried out at a Clinic or Hospital please call the Clinic or Hospital for the result, as we cannot action tests which have been requested by other Clinicians outside of the practice. If the consultant’s secretary or colleague inform you they will send the results to your GP, explain that you want the results from the specialist who arranged them who is in by far the best place to give appropriate advice.
